Puget Sound Throwdown

The Puget Sound Throwdown is happening this Saturday, August 8th. The DB Team will be there representing. This event was super fun last year and I'm sure it will be again this year. For directions to Jetty Island click here.

Matt Flood Florida Trip

Ultimate Skimfest

The Ultimate Skim Fest went down last weekend in Grand Haven Michigan. DB Skimboards helped sponsor this event. It sounds like a good time was had by all. Check out a couple pictures from the event. Go to http://www.ultimateskimfest.com/ for offical results and more pictures.

Canadian Open Skimboard Jam, White Rock BC

Last weekend the team made the trip up north to White Rock for the Canadian Open hosted by Tydle Mag. The event had great weather and a good turnout of riders from all over BC and Washington.

The format was laid back with sessions on each different feature judged separately by riders.

The crew had a good time chilling under the tent between sessions and riding with all the locals.

Blake rode hard all day taking 3rd in the final feature.

Richard focused on his specialty's, straight shuvs and hurricanes.

Isaac brought out his entire bag of tricks and was popping HUGE all day (not to mention 3-shuving / doing backside body varials on every thing in sight. Isaac was voted best overall rider of the day and also got best trick on the final feature.

Emile walked away with best trick on the Hellbound, but also showed some serious style with swivel 360 butters on the flat box.

High Fives for the team for making the Journey and riding so hard. More high fives to the Tydle Crew and Kyle Lynch for throwing a rad event. Check out the new tydle mag when it drops later this month. www.tydlemag.com

Flatland East Skim Comp

DB regional rider Matt Flood and some other locals are putting on the Flatland East Skim Comp on Saturday August 1st at Southwich Beach, NY. It's good to see some East Coast flatland skimboards getting together and putting on a contest. This is going to be a good time, so come check it out. Dash Point Pro/Am Skimboarding Competiton Video, finnally

Isaac Thomas filmed most of it between heats....(thanks Isaac!) so if you were in Isaac's heats you might not have very many shots (also explains why he doesn't have many either!)

Canadian Open This Weekend!

The Canadian Open is going down this Saturday in Whiterock BC. Most of the DB Team will be there so come check it out. Contest organizer, Kyle Lynch describes the contest as a "giant skimjam". Kyle says, "For those who are interested on how the event is going to unfold its going to be pretty chill, there are going to be a ton of rails to sesh: ride ons, ollie ons, and everything in between. Music will be pounding the good vibes, we will be giving out some cash for best trick on certain rails and those who choose to stay in white rock overnight will get a encore on Sunday for no charge." Inland Skim Sessions Competition

This weekend, DB Team riders Blake, Emile, Logan, Tony and Richard made the long trip up to Vancouver Island for the Inland Skim Sessions competition at Saratoga Beach. The features were a bit sketchy and the competition a bit unorganized but our team made the best of it.

The tide came in during the finals and a sand castle provided another obstacle to pop over. Here is Logan doing a shuv mute over the sand castle.

Emile ended up in first place with Logan a very close second and Blake got fourth place. It was good to see some local shredders on the island that gave us a run for our money.

Virgin River Classic, St. George Skimboarding Mega Post

So last Thursday DB Skimboards team riders Richard, Emile, Bryce and Blake set off for the 1500 mile drive to St. George Utah for the Virgin River Classic Skimboarding Competition. We took the long way cruising through the Wenatchee National Forest.

On the way we found a sweet spillway to skate that emptied into a river making an epic river jumping spot (see the pic of Blake one and a half).

Next stop was Coeur De'Alene Idaho where we met up with some skimmers and had a fun flatland/bungee session. After we lauched at warp speed up river (and eventually stretched the bungee so hard it broke!) we headed to the skate park for a fun session on the 5ft mini pipe.


We poached a campsite in Misoula Montana and slept on a tarp and dodged the rangers in the morning. Friday we drove all day...so let's not talk about that. Friday night we met up with DB team rider Lexi Hutchings who let us crash at her place for the weekend. Thanks again Lexi! After peanutbutter and honey toast in the morning we trecked down to the river in the 100 + degree temperatures for the comp.

The comp was super fun. TJ for Adventure Plus, the Sandy Crack crew, and the VR Skimz crew built some sick features. The comp was well organized which made it less chaotic and a good time for everyone. At the end of the comp the top three spots were taken by DB riders:

1st Place: Logan Davidson
2nd Place: Emile Panerio
3rd Place: Blake Zimmerman

After the comp the crew took some of there winnings and gorged themselves on ribs and pizza (many a stomach ache resulted). After a quick rest the crew went back down to the river and seshed/filmed until the sun set. Some gnarly tricks went down including some nose blunts and other tricks/combos that I can't reveal until the next video comes out....

Sunday morning the crew filmed at a 3ft waterfall just out of town....also top secret stuff....but you might see a pic or two of this session in the next tydle mag.

Sunday and monday the crew drove home (17hrs) and stop and some super fun skate parks along the way. It was a good trip! Look out for the footage and keeper pictures in our upcoming video and the next tydle mag.

St George comp, just ended

The Virgin River Classic in st george Utah just wrapped up. Logan came out in first, Emile came in second and Blake in third. The comp had some super fun features including a slant


box and a rollercoaster.
