Chambers Creek Throwdown 4, Results

The 4th annual Chambers Creek Throwdown went "down" last weekend. The event was greeted with overcast sky's in the morning which quickly burnt off to sunny skies and temperatures in the mid 70's. Riders from Washington, Vacouver Island, BC, Kelowna, France, and Utah made it out to sesh a variety of set ups in the ankle deep fresh water at Chambers Creek.

The 45 Competitors threw down some truly inspiring tricks with 540 shuvs onto boxes, bigspins in and out, 3-shuvs to one foot slides and much much more. The competitors made it extremely difficult for the judges to determine who to crown as winner but eventually they narrowed it down to the following results:

Pro
1st: Isaac Thomas
2nd: Logan Davidson
3rd: Andrew Cook

Am
1st: Bryce Johnston
2nd: Arthur Murray
3rd: Trevor Hardwick
4th: Greg Christie
5th: Cedar Coba

U-16
1. Seth Thomas
2. Nick Grosch
3. Oliver Parkman

Slappy Squad and the local shreds.

Dakota popping big.

Andrew Cook

More photo's up soon! Make sure to check the DB Facebook Page for more photo's going up this week.

We had Richard Docter shooting the entire comp (except for the best trick section which he participated in, and missed a lot of good shots!), so expect a nice video of the event in a few weeks time. Thanks to all the volunteers, competitors and spectators for coming out and making the event great. Check out full photo coverage courtesy of Matt McDonald HERE.

If you couldn't make it make sure to keep posted to www.dbskimboards.com and www.nwstour.com for upcoming comps and demo's. The next event is on Vancouver Island at Saratoga Beach July 24th, followed by the Double Bluff Comp on Whidbey Island on August 7th, and then the Puget Sound Throwdown Aug 14th on Jetty Island. There are a lot of skim events this summer, make sure to get out to one (or all) of them and show your support!

Virgin River Classic, Results

The Virgin River Classic went down last Saturday and Blake Z. and Logan D. made the 18hr Drive down from Washington. The boys skimmed well in the comp which looked like it had a lot of community support and some sick features.

Logan took home 1st place and $500. Blake got second place with a cool $300 cash. Addsion Foote took 4th taking home $100. Lexi took home first in the women's division winning $300. Congrats to all our team riders killing it in the comp!

We'll update you with more photo's and videos as they become available. A big thanks to TJ at Adventure Plus, the city of St. George, and everyone else who worked hard to make this event possible!

Check out this great video from DMG films:

and another from DB Skimboards Team Rider Addison Foote:

Blake Zimmerman, Varial Flip!

Blake Zimmerman finally got a clean varial flip landed on tape! Blake has been perfecting his varial flip for a few summers now and we are stoked that he finally put one down with the cameras rolling.

Thanks to Addison Foote for getting it on tape!

Dash Point Pro/Am (wrap up)(results)

Thanks to everyone for coming out to the Dash Point Pro/Am last Saturday. The event opened with cloudy skies that quickly gave way to blue sky's and temperatures in the mid 70's. Flatland skimboarders from Washington, California, Oregon, BC, Vancouver Island, Poland, and Utah were out in force and shredding all day. The comp featured some really fun obstacles built by the experienced hands of Tim Mackey, Isaac Thomas, and Bryce Hermansen.

The U-16 Division started the day off with flatland and then moving onto a jump and up flat session. Some impressive tricks were thrown down by the competitors including Oliver (pictured above)

The Am and Pro Divisions took the water after the Ams. Starting out with a flatland heat with no features. Just about every trick in the book got landed during these heats including 540 shuvs, No-comply biggerspins and even a 360 bigspin.

Next the guys moved a up flat up flat into the stream side by side with a A-Frame rail. Some creative maneuvers went down on both set ups including Logan Davidson gapping over the final flat section with a nice 3-shuv.

The final set up was a three parter...a dragon tail on the right, a gap to down in the center, and a mellow A-frame on the left.

At the end of the second rail heat local favorite Emile Panerio was taken out of the comp with a rolled ankle.

The pro men battled it out with a multitude of big airs and shuv variations over the stair set.

Logan Davidson had the last hit of the comp and managed to go down pretty hard over the gap, dislocating his finger in the process. His finger was quickly snapped back into place and is now fully functional again.

U-16 Results:

1st: Seth Thomas
2nd: Oliver Parkmen
3rd: Nic Grosch
4th Noah Staley

Am(open men) Results:

1. Greg Christie
2. Arthur Murray
